East African Presidents Start Showering Kagame With Congratulatory Messages

Rwandan President Elect Paul Kagame has Started to receive messages congratulating him upon winning the 4th term as the president of the republic of Rwanda.

Kenyan president William Ruto has posted the message to his counterpart H.E Paul Kagame congratulating him upon re-election for yet another term as the president of the republic of Rwanda.

"On behalf of the people and Government of Kenya, I have the pleasure to convey warmest congratulations upon your re-election to serve a further term as President of the Republic of Rwanda.

 We celebrate with you the sovereign choice of the people of Rwanda and wish you success as you continue steering your country in the path of peace, stability and posterity.

 I look forward to continuing working with you in regional and Pan-African affairs in strengthening the bonds of solidarity and fraternity between the peoples of Kenya and Rwanda". He posted on his official X handle @williamsruto.

Tanzanian president Samia Suruhu has also sent warm congratulatory message to Kagame.

"On behalf of the Government and the People of the United Republic of Tanzania, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency Paul Kagame, on being re-elected as the President of the Republic of Rwanda. I look forward to continue working with you in fostering the relations between our two countries and in the pursuit of East Africa’s unity and prosperity". She posted.

RPF’s Paul Kagame, the incumbent President, secured 99.15% of the vote. Frank Habineza of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda, received 0.53%, and independent candidate Phillipe Mpayimana, garnered 0.32%.

 He has served as the President since 2000. He was the Vice President from 1994-2000. In 2015, the constitution was amended to allow him to seek three additional terms. His third term lasted for 7 years.

Election observers say, the Rwandan polls should be a model of democracy for the continent and this continent should own their own democracy not import it.
