Electoral Commission Nominations for Bukedea District By-Election of Chairperson, End on Tuesday.

The Electoral Commission is on Tuesday 06 June 2023, finalizing the nomination exercise for candidates contesting in the By-election Chairperson, Bukedea District which started on Monday.

Paul Bukenya, the Electoral Commission Spokesperson said "Three candidates have been nominated on Day One to contest in the by-election of Chairperson, Bukedea District.
They include;
1. Oita Sam - FDC
2. Akol Mary - NRM
3. Lokwiisk Tychcus - Independent."

Three other candidates; Ongole Richard (NRM), Okia William (FDC) and Kedi Johnson (Independent) have been nominated to contest in the by-election of the District Directly-elected Councillor for Bukedea Sub County.

One candidate, Kitaka Mary Gorreti (NRM) has been nominated for the position of the District Female Councillor representing workers.

The nomination exercise ends today, Tuesday, 6th June 2023.

According to Bukenya, nominated candidates will conduct campaign meetings for six days, from Wednesday 7th to Monday 12th June 2023.

The Electoral Commission set June 14, 2023, as a day for the Bukedea LCV Chairperson by-election, following the death of Moses Olemukan.
