Burora's Bail Application Hearing Adjourned To 25th July 2024-Sent Back To Luzira Prison.

Suspended Rubaga Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner Herbert Anderson Burora has been remanded back to prison after Buganda Road court magistrate ruled that justice can only be served if both parties are heard.

This followed the request by the prosecution to be granted more time to verify sureties presented by the defense team.

The adjournment is also attributed to the magistrate's absence and this will see Burora spending another week at Luzira prison.
Last week on 12th July 2024, the defense made an application for bail and the state asked for time to verify sureties then respond.

They have however asked for more time since the presiding Magistrate is away.

The defense team did not object but instead pray for an earlier date porosed July 22nd 2024.

State Attorney Richard Burivumbuka also told court as he was unavailable early next week because he has matters in the High Court and proposed July 26th which the magistrate objected and set 25th july as the hearing date for the bail application.

''For the interests of justice can only be served if both sides are heard''.She quoted saying that since the defense didn’t object to state attorney's submission that he won’t be around on their preferred date the matter be adjourned to July 25th 2024.

Burora faces charges of hate speech and spreading malicious information against the Speaker of Parliament.
