Heartless Man Cuts His Wife to Death, Goes into Hiding
Detectives in Apac District are hunting for a suspect on allegations of cutting his wife to death fromLC 1 of Acholi in village Kungu parish Akokoro Sub-County in Apac District. The suspect has been identified as Heza Hassan a Lugbara by tribe and a resident of Acholi in village, kungu parish, Akokoro Sub-County in APAC District.
It's alleged that the deceased, Similimana Santare aged 30 yrs old met the husband, suspect now, Heza Hassan in Arua and she had two children, a boy and a girl, they then moved to Apaa land. When people were chased from Apaa, they moved to Acholi in village in Apac District where they had stayed for a shorter period. They developed a misunderstanding that prompted the local leaders to temporarily separate them but the man followed his wife and reconciled again.
On 5th January 2024 at about 3pm the suspect asked his wife together with their son to go with him to cut trees for making charcoal. On reaching the bush, he told them that they are now under hostage, he pulled out his panga and started cutting his wife, immediately the son escaped and went to inform the people around.
Upon returning, they found the woman lying in a pool of blood and the man had escaped, they tried to hurry her to the near by health center where she died on arrival.
"A case of Murder was registered at Apac police station, the scene was visited by the DPC Apac and his team the detectives from Homicide including SOCO, it was well documented, they proceeded to where the couple were staying to search for possible evidence which can help police with investigations," SP PJ Okema PRO-North Kyoga Region said.
Postmortem has been conducted and body handed over to the relatives for burial. Suspect is on the run as inquiries are still on.
"What an unfortunate incident, we advise the suspect to report himself to the nearest police station or anyone who could have known his whereabouts to inform police for arrest and prosecution," SP Okema added.
