How Lands Minister Mayanja Was Promised Hot Air To Protect Land Grabber In Kyankwanzi Land Saga
How Lands Minister Mayanja Was Promised Hot Air To Protect Land Grabber In Kyankwanzi Land Saga Shocking information on why State Minister for Lands Hon Sam Mayanja recently stormed Kyankwanzi and gave out land to the wrong person has been linked to Spyreports.
Minister Mayanja last Thursday stormed Kyankwanzi where he clashed with RDC Akunda Sharon and other security Chiefs and later pronounced himself a judge and gave out land to one Fausitine Ntambala wrongly. The letter which Minister Mayanja wrote to RDC, showsa different land contrary to what he visited. The letter further shows that a different person allegedly petitioned the Minister and the Minister gave out land to Ntambala who never petitioned.
The letter which we obtained a copy says " My office received a petition of the Beneficiaries of the estate of the late Yoswa Kyeyune Lwembaho complaining about an illegal eviction of tenants on land comprised in Block 758 Fc 1194 plot 1 in Bukuta measuring approximately 4 Square Miles,". In his letter, the Minister further says he the petition was brought by one Benuseba Nanyojo aged 98 years. "I have also reviewed the police report that investigated the matter in which the eviction was conducted," reads part of the Minister's letter. He further says "I find it imperative to visit locus and educate the masses on the various land rights and processes leading to eviction".
The locus visit was supposed to take place on 18 April. However what shocked and surprised the public was that the Minister gave out land to Ntambala who never petitioned his office. " The minister came with a biased mind. In his letter he clearly stated how a 98-year-old
Nanyojo petitioned him about illegal eviction but ended up giving the land to Ntambala who is not mentioned anywhere in his letter to RDC," Says a Senior official from the Lands Ministry.
The official further reveals to us that the location of the land which the minister indicated in his letter is not where he visited meaning that he came on a piece of biased information.
Another official from his office says if the Minister was to handle the matter well, he should have brought Nanyojo on the ground and listened to her first and then he also listened to the other party before he could make a decision.
"The minister should have also considered court ruling and the parties that were involved but he failed to consider it," Says another staff from Lands. "The minister errored by following the police report to give land to the wrong person. He should have followed the court ruling," another land expert says. The police report was part of the investigations that ended and the matter went to. The court so the police report could not be a basis to give out land to the wrong person.
We have also established that the Minister was also promised some chunk of land if he could bring Ntambala in this matter. We also found out that the deal to bring Ntambala in the matter was brought by Jet Tumwebaze who is his brother and also his lawyer.
Jet also works with a law firm where Minister Mayanja is a shareholder. "How did Jet access the police report and why did he present it not the minister himself yet he was around," an official says adding that there was a connivance in the whole matter.
The official adds that the police did not have the report which was read by Jet. "Jet is a lawyer and represents Ntambala and claims is the owner of the land, he can't go to court and get the land legally than using political actors who have no powers to give out the land," Says a senior lawyer close to Jet.
DAVIS MUGABI SPEAKS OUT
When we interviewed Davis Mugabi who owns the land on Sunday says he was shocked how the whole Minister came onto his land without informing him. "I was called by people saying that the Minister, Ntambala, and others are on your land. I came running to find out what brought Minister on my land," He says during an interview.
He added that the Minister did not even give him a chance to explain how he got the land. " What I heard from the Minister was to order for my arrest and giving my land to Ntambala, " Adds Mugabi.
He revealed to us that he does not own land on plot 1 but he owns land on plots 18 and 19. He says that the Minister's decision has led to the death of his cows, damage to his properties, and a threat to his life among others.
" I kindly request the President, Prime Minister Nabbanja, and Lands Minister Nabakoba to come and put things clearly because Minister Mayanja came with his intentions and disorganized everything, " He says.
