Italian National Arrested for Rape of Ugandan Maid

Detectives in Katonga and Mpigi district, have arrested an Italian national, on allegations of raping a 23 year old maid. The suspect has been identified as Forouzesh Patrick, a 53 year old, from Bunamweri village, Mpigi town council.

According to reports, the suspect met the victim at her sister’s place, who deals in chicken feed at Mpami village, and offered her a job as a house maid, at a monthly pay of Ugx 200000. The victim started work the following day of 4.09.2023, but while cleaning the table, she was grabbed by the suspect, dragged into the sofa and raped. The suspect claimed it was common to have sex during rain. The victim informed her sister and on the 06.09.2023, the matter was reported at Mpigi police station. The victim was medically examined and DNA samples obtained. The suspect was arrested and examined on PF 24a.

Fred Enanga the Police Spokesperson said, "We continue to investigate such kind of suspects who take advantage of female workers, and sexually assault them. The police in coordination with the Office of Directorate of Public Prosecutions ODPP will ensure the suspect is charged to court, to help bring justice to the victim."
