Kisoro Woman District MP NRM Primaries, Five Nominated On Day One

The Natioal Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission chairman, Dr. Tanga Odoi has today Wednesday 2nd October 2024 opened the nomination of NRM candidates to contest for the party flag ahead of the Kisoro district woman Member of Parliament seat by-election.

The November by-election seeks to replace Hon. Sarah Mateke Nyirabashitsi who also served as state minister for defense.

The three day exercise started with the nomination of 5 contestants at the electoral commission’s office at plot 13, Kyadondo road, Nakasero.

The five include; Akifeza Grace Ngabirano, Dushime Sylvia, Igiraneza Winfred Faith, and Irankunda Jemimah.

“The NRM will defend the Kisoro seat because the people there are entirely yellow and we don’t expect any serious competition once we front our flag bearer,” Dr Tanga said. 

Hon Sarah Mateke, Woman MP Kisoro and State Minister for Defence died on 7th September 2024 rendering the seat vacant.
