Government officials visit murdered Minister's home, pays condolences.
Government officials from various dockets have visited the home of the murdered minister in Kyanja to pay their condolences.
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon Thomas Tayebwa in a statement said that, " I visited the family in Kyanja to deliver my personal and parliament's heartfelt condolences. Police and other sister security agencies are investigating the motive of this gruesome murder."
The Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Hon Dr. Chris Baryomunsi has said that the deceased's body was rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital for postmortem while Otim who sustained injuries is being treated by the doctors the Hospital.
Hon. Baryomunsi conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family, the president of the republic of Uganda, the people of Lango region and Ugandans at large. He noted that burial arrangements are going to be worked out and a program released once they reach an agreement.
Uganda Police Force spokesperson, Fred Enanga has revealed that investigations to ascertain the motivation leading to the incident are underway.
The State Minister for Labor, Employment and Industrial Relations, Hon. Col. (Rtd) Charles Okello Engola was this morning shot dead. The incident happened at his residence in Kyanja where the Minister who doubled as the Member of Parliament for Oyam North was about to mount his vehicle and proceed for duty.
The minister's bodyguard Pt. Sabiti Wilson shot him at close range and fled the scene. He allegedly ended his life in a trading Centre not far away from the crime scene. A one Otim Ronald an aid to the minister sustained severe injuries.
