Military Court Martial Sets Gen Kayihura Free

The General Court Martial has dropped charges against former Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura.

Kayihura faced charges, which included failure to protect war materials and aiding and abetting the kidnapping of Rwandese refugees.

The charges were filed in 2018, a year after he had stepped down as police chief.

Kayihura is now a free man and will officially retire from the the military tomorrow together with other UPDF Generals. The farewell function with be held at State house Entebbe and the President will be the Chief Guest.
