Police Bombo Squad Recovers another Bomb Inside Kampala Trading Mall

Police's Bombo squard has again discovered another explosive device inside a shopping Mall in the capital city of Kampala. The explosive has been found in Mabiito business hub found in Natete, Rubaga Division a Kampala suburb. Joint security team consisting of CMI, JAT, police Crime intelligence have sealed off the whole place trying to establish more information about the whereabouts of the terrorists.

On Sunday 3rd September 2023, a Bomb was detonated by the Anti-terrorism unit composed of experts from the police, army, and sister security agencies, and a 28-year-old man terrorist suspected to be from Allied Democratic Forces ADF was arrested at Rubaga Mirale Center in Kampala.

"Upon further interrogation of Kintu Ibrahim the suspect apprehended, he revealed that other 3 terrorists had been deployed with Improvised Explosives Devices IEDs," Patrick Onyango, the KMP Spokesperson said.

According to Patrick Onyango, the suspect was found with an IED concealed in a bag, along with a food flask containing powder, nails, a motorcycle battery (used as a charger), a mobile phone handset (intended as a switch), a detonator, and a booster charger.

Onyango said that security forces are working diligently to prevent any potential threats from materializing and to ensure the safety and security of the public.
