Police Officer Killed In Road Accident

The Territorial police in Kassanda have registered a fatal accident that claimed life of one that occured in Nakiganda village along Mityana -Mubende highway in Kassanda district on 25/11/2024 at about 1900hrs.

 The accident was involving motorvehicle UBA 135G Fuso fighter milk tank and motorcycle UFP 815R Bajaj boxer red.

The deceased has been identified as No. 51790 PC Aliguma moses male police officer attached to Kassanda cps and a resident of Manyogaseka in Kassanda District and was the rider of the motorcycle.

Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of motorvehicle reg no UBA 135G Fuso fighter milk tank was driving from mityana side to Mubende side, unfortunately swerved off his lane while trying to dodge potholes at Nakiganda and knocked the rider of motor cycle reg no UFP 815R who was riding from opposite direction on his lane from Mubende side to mityana side along mubende - Kampala highway killing the rider on spot.

 Scene has been visited,examined and documented by our task team led by district traffic officer Kassanda.

SP Racheal Kawala the wamala region police spokesperson confirmed the incident adding that Both Motorvehicle and motorcycle have been towed and parked at police pending iov inspection and Body of the deceased taken to Kiganda health centre mortuary pending postmortem.

This accident was due to reckless driving by driver of Motorvehicle reg no UBA 135G Fuso truck who left his lane and efforts are on to have driver of motorvehicle identified,arrested and brought to book. Says SP Kawala.
