Police Speaks Out over Nakapiripit Police Barracks Shooting.

Police has spoken about the shooting incident that happened today morning in Nakapiripit police barracks that left the officer in charge of the station OC station ASP Ivan Nduhura with injuries.

According to IP Longole Mike the acting PRO MT Moroto/ASTU, the incident happened on 25.9.2023 at around midnight where three Bullets were shot by unknown person within Nakapiripit police barracks.

At around 05:45am when the station major was moving around blowing whistle waking officers for monday parade, shooting resumed directed toward the station major from the direction of residence of OC station which lasted quite long time.

The OC station ASP Nduhura Ivan sustained minor injury on the left hand and has been issued with PF 3. A team from the  Regional Police Headquarters led by SP Odongo Patrick went to Nakapiripirit to assess the situation. 
The K9 dog was introduced to the scene, it remained rotating within the residence of ASP Nduhura Ivan.

The team recovered about 30 cartridges inside the residence  of OC station and others for officers who said they were responders and they had seen no one around the OC station residence.

IP Longole Mike noted that "our observation is that there was no external attack to the station/Barracks but it looks like a framed situation and is being handled by joint security forces."
