President Museveni Commissions 132KV West Nile Transmission Line.

The President of the Repulic of Uganda H.E. Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni,  has commissioned the 132kV Kole-Gulu-Nebbi-Arua transmission line which now connects the West Nile region to the national transmission grid

Previously, the West Nile region experienced poor quality power supply and frequent outages because the available supply could not meet the demand.

The grid will enable construction of industries confidently and will also improve the lives of people in the West Nile. said the President.

 "The line we are commissioning today will increase the supply to the region". Said the President.

Government of Uganda recognizes and is committed to supplying adequate and reliable power to the West Nile region in order to support industrialization of this region and therefore enhance their economic empowerment.The Energy and Mineral Development Minister Dr Ruth Nankabirwa said.

"Access to sustainable energy contributes to a better-quality life. To the regional leadership of West Nile, I request that we continue to work together to support Government projects throughout their implementation and encourage the communities to use this electricity productively". Added Minister Nankabirwa.

On the same note, Minister for Energy, Hon Ruth Nankabirwa officiated  at the groundbreaking ceremony for the 24MWp ITUKA Solar Project in Uleppi, Madi Okollo today. AmeaPower the project investors have committed to have the project powered by Q4 in 2025, adding 24MW on the National Grid.

Minister Namkabirwa commended the development partners like the World Bank for supporting development in Uganda.
