President Museveni Warns Those Planning To Disturb Wealth Creators Through City Demonstrations.
The president Museveni's address last evening at State house Nakasero addressed five key issues such as Environment Protection, Corruption, Wealth Creation, Job creation and Industrailization, Regional Intergartion.
The president has advised those wishing to protest against corruption to contact Col. Edith Nakalema who organized a weekend Anti-Corruption Walk from City Square to Kololo in 2019 to avoid disrupting city life and wealth creators.
''Some elements, some from the opposition are always working with foreigners to ferment chaos in Uganda. Riots, illegal demonstrations, inconsiderate processions etc. These people are unfair and inconsiderate and should check themselves or we will have no alternative but to check them''. Said President Museveni.
''We are busy producing wealth; you are getting cheap food, people in other parts of the world are starving, and you are here, you want to disturb us. You are playing with fire''. He warned.
On Job creation, the President noted that youths should desist from thinking getting employed in administrative jobs.
President Museveni says that money is found in four key sectors: commercial agriculture with a kibalo, manufacturing, services, and ICT. Our strategic goal is to ensure every Ugandan joins one of these sectors, either as an employer or employee.
"You will see in the coming days how we are going to cause a lot of casualties. By the time we run out of space in Luzira, people will have lost appetite for corruption - President Museveni addressing the country in January 2024."
Speaking on wetland restoraton president Museveni noted that, Part of the cause of the flooding is swamp destruction. He added that, there was a lot of flooding in Kampala the other day but that flooding was partly caused by the destruction of these swamps.
''It is so unfair that a small number of wetland encroachers ruin the opportunities of the millions that could irrigate on the dry land and compensating those in wetlands will encourage others to encroach''. President Museveni warned.
''Those people who come and tell lies; we were born here (in the wetlands), they are not very clever. They will go to hell because we have the records. We can trace back the records of the forests''.The President said.
