Stolen Police Gun Recovered With 28 Ammunition From An Incomplete Kitchen
The territorial Police of Tororo together with a team of Flying Squad, CID and CI successfully tracked down and arrested two prime suspects Tabu HARUNA JUMA a resident of Mukuju village, and Ojore William aged 32 a businessman residing in Agururu A2 Western division Tororo Municipality in Tororo district who are part of the gang that has been involved in a series of Armed Robberies and on interrogation.
Haruna Tabu revealed that it was William keeping the gun and William Ojore immediately led police to Suruti Village Magodesi town council where he was hiding the gun in the home of Okongo Joseph.
A search was conducted into the said home and one gun AK 47 number 835517-09562 with 28 Rounds of Ammunitions was recovered from an incomplete kitchen building hidden in a hip of firewood wrapped in Khaki trousers, a mosquito net, and packed in a white sack. The search certificate was made and witnessed by the L.C 1 chairman and the neighbors.
Charles Batumwa the Tororo CID officer said that the gun recovered is a police gun which was reported grabbed from PC Otwani on 06/01/2024 when he was going to guard at NIRA Tororo vide CRB 029/2026.
He added that all reports indicate that the arrested suspects are also the ones who have been terrorizing residents in Tororo and the neighboring districts and will be taken to courts of law once investigations are done.
