Suspect Murders Lover and Flees, Police Launch Manhunt

Detectives from Bombo and Luweero have launched a manhunt for a murder suspect who fled after stabbing and eventually killing his lover in cold blood.

Police findings suggest that a case of murder by stabbing that was registered on Friday 13/10/2023 at approximately 4:30pm at Kasala village, Kasala parish, Makulubita subcounty in Luwero district. 

The deceased have been identified as 
Kyoshabire Jane a female aged
26yrs old, a munyankole by tribe who was working as a maid and a resident of the above address and born of Rwendahi village, Kayenje parish, Rwekiniro s/county, Ruhama county, Ntungamo District.

It is alleged that the suspect once married the sister of the deceased and were staying at Bukekele village but later separated. It is further alleged that of recent the suspect invited his sister in law (now the late) that he had secured for her a job however when she came all the way from Ntungamo District, the suspect told her that the employer does not want banyankore for the job. They then fell in love.

On 08/10/2023 the deceased got a job as maid at the home of Nalubwama Dorothy but the suspect kept following her claiming that the woman moved away with his underwear. They amicably settled the matter on 12/10/2023 before the chair person lc1 Kalasa village and the suspect promised not to follow her again. 

On Friday at around 4pm the suspect went to the victim's place of work claiming that he didn't sleep well because of her and that he wants her back and he grabbed her and a fight ensued between the two couples and the suspect stabbed her with a knife twice in the stomach and he ran away to unknown place. 

When police received information from mr. Ssebagala Ronald defense of the area, they responded in time visited the scene, documented it by soco, a case of murder by stabbing was registered, relevant statements were recorded from relevant witnesses, body conveyed to Mulago city mortuary for postmortem examination.

ASP Sam TwineAmazima cautioned that, "people should stop taking the law into their hands instead they should report to all government authorities." He further noted that the suspect was only known by face and the hunt to have him arrested is on going.
