Fatal Accident in Buloba Forest Park Claims 5 Lives as Truck Collides with Multiple Vehicles

The traffic police in Buloba has earlier this evening registered a fatal accident that killed 5 individuals at Buloba Forest Park.

According Faridah Nampiima the traffic police spokesperson, the fatal incident occurred at around 8:00 PM, when a Scania truck with registration number UAX628S, loaded with parked water from Kampala and heading to Mityana, suffered a tyre burst and lost control.

The out-of-control truck then collided with five other motor vehicles, namely a Toyota Hiace with registration number UBE613E, an Isuzu Elf with registration number UAR175W, a Mitsubishi Pajero with registration number UAX783F, and a Bajaj Boxer with registration number UFL384D.

“Preliminary findings indicate that motor vehicle registration number UAX628S Scania loaded with parked water from Kampala side heading to Mityana,  had a tyre Burst and lost control and rammed into five  motorvehicles;  UBE613E Toyota Hiace , UAR 175W Isuzu Elf, UAX783F Mitsubishi Pajero  and UFL 384D Bajaj Boxer, killing five people on spot” Nampiima said 

An unknown number of victims were also rushed to Mulago Hospital for medical assistance according to Nampiima.

 She said investigations into the incident are currently underway, with authorities seeking to determine the cause of the accident and identify any other possible victims.

As the investigation continues, traffic police is urging all road users to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
