Suspected Northern Northern Bypass Assailant Shot Dead.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police is actively investigating a series of incidents along the Northern Bypass. On 23rd August 2024, Mr. Wagaba Sulaiman, a resident of Central Zone, Kiwatule, was attacked and subsequently rushed to China Naguru Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical attention. 

Following this incident, Kira Road Police intensified patrols along the stretch.

 On 24th August 2024, at approximately 6 am officers responded to another attack involving Ms. Masibo Winnie, who was assaulted by assailants while on her way to work at Frain Supermarket, Ntinda. During the attack, Ms. Winnie’s phone and a bag containing important documents were stolen.

 In the pursuit of the suspects, two individuals were identified. One suspect, Rwothomio Jonathan, was fatally wounded during the confrontation with our responding team . His accomplice managed to escape with the stolen items and is currently at large.

Investigations have revealed that the deceased suspect, Rwothomio Jonathan, was out on bail and facing charges of store breaking and theft, under case reference Kiwatule CRB 081/2024.

 The body of the deceased has been taken to City Mortuary Mulago for further examination. Ms. Masibo Winnie is currently receiving treatment for her injuries after losing consciousness during the attack.

Luke Owoyesigyire the deputy police spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan  noted that police are actively investigating these incidents.
