Two Police Officers, One Civilian Arrested over Stealing Two Motorcycles at a Police Station. 

Lira West police station are holding their own  three officers over allegations of stealing two motorcycles at the same station. The arrested police officers have been identified as No 46011 Cpl Apio Jane Logira, No 65362 PC Okello Fred and Okello Herbert all attached at Lira West police station.

According to Asp Ambayo Elias the OC station Lira West police station in Lira city, on 07/07/2023 at around 1pm, one man known as Okello Herbert went to Lira West police station requesting police officers to go and arrest a suspect. However on his arrival at the station, he found two police officers on duty that is Cpl Apio Jane Logira and PC Okello Fred adding that he had come while riding a motorcycle reg no UFL944U bajaji boxer red in colour and he parked at the station.

Asp Ambayo Elias adds that, after getting officers for arrest, he waited for the arrest time to reach and that at around 02:30 pm  unknown suspects came at the station and stole police motorcycle reg no UFV 036/C Bajaji boxer red in colour and that of Okello Herbert who had come to report a case. After stealing two motorcycles, Lira West police station opened a case of stealing of stealing motorcycles vide SD Ref 24/07/07/2023 and two police officers who were on duty  and one Okello Herbert who had come to report the case  were arrested there and then.

The OC station Lira West told us that the stolen police motorcycle belong to the Crime Intelligence CI department adding that police's motorcycle was locked but the thugs carried it before broking it's lock.
