UBOS Deploys Officials To Complete Census

The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) an independent institution responsible for conducting National Housing and Population Census in Uganda has deployed a special team with experience to Cities, Municipalities, Sub counties and town Councils to conduct the mopping up assignments.

According to the document signed by UBOS ED Dr Chris Mukiza the officials have been deployed in areas of Kampala Metropolitan.

"The general public is hereby informed that there is on going mopping exercise to complete the National Population and Housing Census 2024 in greater Kampala," reads part of the Document. Dr Mukiza in his document says Mopping exercise is also going in hard to reach districts that experience land slides and flooding before and during the enumeration period.

"The exercise will until Sunday 26th May to ensure complete coverage of all households," Says  Dr Mukiza. He further called upon the public particularly household heads who have not been counted to reach out to their LC1 Chairperson.

 "This is to enable them make an appointment when an enumerator can visit their households within the stated time mopping up period ending on Sunday 26 May," Adds Dr Mukiza.
