Ubos Extends Census Exercise Until 25th May, Yet Enumerated People To Make Appointment

The Uganda Bureau of Statistics UBOC has extended the enumeration exercise by six days for areas that the exercise started late due to unforeseen challenges like failure to login .

In a letter signed by Dr Chris Mukiza the UBOS executive Director indicated that no one should be left uncounted and urged whoever yet counted to report to the area local council such that an appointed is booked for that person to be counted

"Due to challenges experienced at the start of enumeration, we do not want to leave anyone behind and thus found it prudent to have an extension of the Census exercise. Incase you haven't been counted, this is your time. Also, reach out to your L.C to have an appointment booked for you to be counted". Said Ubos Head Dr Mukiza.

The counting body indicated that the extension will now exceed 25th may 2024 from sunday 19th may.

UBOD has however commended all the enumerators and supervisor for enabling the exercise run as planned despite a few login challenges in some district .

Some districts have  sofar completed the enumeration exercise with 100% coverage.

"Every enumerator will be paid and directly with no tax and no intermediary. That is why we asked that their lines be registered in their names".Dr Mukiza Assured contracted enumerators
