ULS Dismissed CEO Nimwesiga Demands Shs570m Compensation
The dismissed Uganda Law Society Chief Executive Officer Ms Mabel Nimwesiga has given the Uganda Law Society Seven days ultimatum to compensate her shs570,150,794 over unlawful and unfair dismissal from job orelse she takes legal action.
Nimwesiga through her lawyers Barya,Byamugisha and company Advocates says that she was initially appointed as an internal auditor for Uga da Law Society on 1st November 2017and served in that capacity until 8th December 2023 when she was appointed Acting CEO and served in that capacity until 31st July 2024.
She was appointed the CEO of the society for a period of 3years effective 1st August 2024, confirmed in this job on 2nd August 2024 only to be dismissed on 4th December 2024.
She is now demanding compensation for the salary and allowances os the 32 months remaining on her conctract and damages caused to her after dismissal.
Efforts to get a comment from the Uganda Law Society president Isaac Ssemakadde are still futile as his contacts are unreachable by press time.
