Unknown Assailants Attack Police Officer, Takes Away A Gun With 30 Rounds Of Ammunition.

Police in Rukungiri are investigating circumstances under which unknown Assailants attacked a police officer and took away his gun with 30 rounds of ammunition.

 The officer has been identified as No :70464 PC Adriko Bernard attached to FFU Rukungiri police station.

According to our sources , the unknown Assailants attacked a police officer while guarding at Kabale University Rukungiri Branch.

 Our source adds that the police officer was attacked , beaten badly before taking away his gun.

 "These Assailants assaulted and beaten badly our officer and later took away his gun,"Says our source.

The source adds that after the unknown Assailants took away our officer's gun, he immediately entered inside his room and picked another gun belonging to his colleague known as PC Mulondo Arafat who was away and shot Four (4) bullets but the Assailants had taken off.

 The officer then informed his immediate boss who is officer in charge (OC) Buyanja who also informed his boss at Rukungiri central Police Station.

 However OC Buyanja after getting information immediately went with his team that included D/CIO, D/SOCO, K-9 to the scene but found the Assailants had already left.

 Police dog further traced the movement of the Assailants and ended up on the tarmac road from Rukungiri -Ntungamo road highway but all in vain.

 Our source added that police later searched all the surrounding areas and premises but couldn't find a gun.

 The officer and owner of the gun was arrested and is being detained at Rukungiri central Police Station as investigations are ongoing.
