UPDF Officer shoots Dead Bar Bouncer Over shs 6000

Police in Kiira are holding an officer attacked by Uganda Peoples Defence Forces after he lost his temper and shot dead a bar bouncer over a quarrel of shs 6000, we can report.

The officer behind police custody has been identified as RA 199093 Corporal Jawiyabwe Colbert attached to the second Division based in Kakiri Wakiso District.

According to Like Iwoyesigyire the Deputy police spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan area, the shooting occurred in one of the bars in Bulindo Najjera division in the Kampala suburb. Luke says on Saturday night, Colbert stormed the bar and demanded a beer of shs 4000 which was given to him.

"After taking the beer he demanded his balance saying he had given a waiter shs 10000," Says a police spokesperson. He added that the waiter said he had given him back his balance which he denied and the pair developed some misunderstandings. "The man went out and returned with an AK 47 and he was blocked by the bouncer not entering the bar and he turned the gum to him and shot him dead," Luke says adding that after killing, he fled the premises but later handed himself to police and was detained.

"We are going to hand him over to his bosses and be tried for murder," he says. In a recently released annual police crime report, over 300 people were murdered by shooting and the majority of the killers were from security agencies.

Relatedly police in Sembabule are also holding another UPDF officer who murdered his father over land-related issues. The officer was identified as Corporal Asiimwe Enos who is attached to the reserve force of UPDF.

"After killing his father, he and his brother Nyesiga Gracious hanged the body of a jack fruit tree," Says Police. They later went to the police and reported the matter of a missing person.
