Uganda Peoples Defense Forces (UPDF) is investigating circumstances under which one of their officers killed the Amuru District Veterinary officer.
The killer officer has been identified as RA/177787 L/Cpl Ekiu Francis attached to 65Bn.
deputy UPDF Spokesperson Col Deo Akiiki said that the officer shot Amuru veterinary officer while preparing to go for an operation in Kidmon in Lakanga sub-county.
Col Akiki added that the officer accidentally discharged a bullet from his weapon injuring himself and fatally shooting the District Veterinary Officer of Amuuru Mr Samuel Ochora who died instantly.
The incident happened at Kololo police post.
The injured and the body of the DVO have been taken to 4 Division Hospital
