3 Kilembe Mines Employees Rescued after R. Nyamwamba Burst its Banks

Security have rescued three employees of Kilembe Mines Ltd after R. Nyamwamba burst its banks. In a repeat of a devastating natural disaster, River Nyamwamba once again burst its banks, causing severe flooding in the Kilembe mines and surrounding areas of Kasese.

Nelson Tumushime the PRO Rwenzori East said "Emergency teams are engaged in rescue operations to ensure the safety of affected individuals. Three employees of Kilembe Mines Ltd have already been rescued by the swift response of fire and rescue emergency teams. Efforts are ongoing to locate and rescue any other individuals who may still be stranded or in need of assistance."

Local authorities are urging residents to exercise caution and follow safety instructions provided by emergency services. They have also advised individuals living in vulnerable areas to temporarily evacuate to higher ground until the situation is under control.
