Suspect in Police Custody for Possession of Government Drugs

Luwero Government Hospital staff has been arrested for unlawful possession of Government drugs that occured on 20.06.2023 in Kasana Luwero District.

The Territorial Police of Luwero District is investigating the case of the suspect identified as Namatovu Harriet Namusisi who is in custody.

"Its alleged that on 20.06.2023, a team of enforcement officers of National Drug Authority from Kampala in connection with police of Luwero district arrested one Namatovu Harriet a staff of Luwero government hospital with 02 sacks of medical supplies labeled government of uganda for public use and not for sale that were classified as drugs," the PRO Savannah Region, ASP Sam Twiineamazima said.

"Upon her arrest, the scene of Crime was visited, relevant statements were recorded from relevant witnesses, medical supplies and classified drugs were recovered and exhibited," he added.
