Assailants Kill Police Officer In Cold Blood, Go Away With Gun

Detectives from Kaabong District have launched investigations into the circumstances under which a police officer was hacked to death and his gun stolen by unidentified assailants.

The deceased identified as No.77106 PC. Ochen Moris was allegedly hacked on the night of 12th/01/2024 at around 9:00pn in Kurao village in Kalapata parish in Kalapata subcounty in Kaabong district.
PC Ochen was attached to Astu unit in Kotido Astu zone and was deployed in a joint mobile operations squad in Kaabong district.

According to information obtained, the officer was hacked to death by unknown assailants as he left his colleagues and went out alone to look for booze in Kurao village in Kalapata parish in Kalapata subcounty in Kaabong district.

The assailants took with them an SMG gun no.UG POL 56-6503651-56725 with 90 rounds of ammos. DPC Kaabong and team with K9 visited the scene, to help in investigations which are on going.
