Blood at FDC As Journalists Assaulted, Robbed

There has been blood shade and day robbery at the Forum for Democratic Change FDC party headquarters in Najjankumbi in Kampala as a group of goons attacked and robbed Journalists who came to cover the bloody press conference.
According to the eye witnesses, the attack started at around 3:00pm when goons climbed the wall coming from inside FDC party and attacked the journalist who had been blocked from accessing the party premises.
"Journalists came to cover the press conference in the morning, but to their surprise, they were denied entry without any explanation," Says a senior Journalist. He added that they remained calm and outside the gate waiting for the out come from the meeting. Another Journalist says shortly the FDC party Chairman Amb Birigwa came and was also blocked from out side. "After a while, Mr Birigwa was allowed to enter via a small gate but his vehicle remained out side," Added another Scribe . She says that some FDC members were blocked out side.
"As we were still waiting from out side, some goons from inside jumped and found us outside. They were armed with sticks, stones and started hitting us seriously," Another Journalists revealed while in tears.
She says they grabbed the cameras, phones, Camera stands,bags for ladies among others.
"More than five Journalist from different media houses were seriously assaulted and were rushed to the near by hospitals for treatment," added another Journalist. He added that those who survived had to run away for their lives. Local residents came to rescue the Journalists and the goons fought them. Police later came in and fired live bullets and tear gas to restore sanity. By press time officials from FDC were still locked inside the building as police took over the security of the place. Efforts to get a comment from FDC party were futile as all members switched off their phones.
