In a directive issued on June 26, President Museveni expressed his concern and emphasized the need to investigate the matter thoroughly. He highlighted that such actions during elections not only constitute electoral offenses but also criminal acts. As a result, he instructed the head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, Brig Gen. Henry Isoke, to initiate an investigation into the incident and take appropriate action against those responsible.
The President’s directive showed the seriousness with which the government views incidents of violence and misconduct during elections. By calling for an investigation and urging action against the culprits, President Museveni aims to ensure that those involved in criminal activities during the by-election are held accountable.
