Former MP Munyagwa Remanded to Luzira on Criminal Trespass Charges

The Chief Magistrate's Court in Kajjansi has  remanded the Former Kawempe South MP Mubarak Munyagwa and accomplices to prison until June 12, 2023.

Munyagwa, alongside four other people were this morning arrested on charges of criminal trespass, malicious damage to property and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Appearing before the Chief Magistrate Doreen Karungi, the suspects; Mubarak Munyagwa, Paddy Kabuye, Joweria Nakafeero, Godfrey Buwembo and Isa Ssekitoleko denied the charges.

Prosecution alleges that the accused between May 26 and June 3, 2023, at Mutungo Cell in Wakiso District, willfully and unlawfully destroyed cassava in a garden worth shs 5 million of Janan Opio's property.

The magistrate remanded the accused to Luzira prison until 12th June, 2023 when they will return for mention of their case.
