15 year old Student Dies In Fire Outbreak
Police in Kampala are investigating circumstances under which a 15 year old child deid in a fire outbreak following in Kisenyi 2 Zone, Kamwokya 2 Parish, Central Division, Kampala.
It's said that the fire broke out in a section of makeshift structures constructed from timber and iron sheets.
The structures were completely destroyed, with all property lost in the fire.
Kampala metropolitan police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the incident saying that, emergency responders, including the Police Fire Prevention and Rescue Services, acted swiftly to contain the fire, with the support of a team from the Uganda Red Cross.
“The victim, identified as Kiiza Melisa Catherine, a 15-year-old student at City Side School in Kyebando and daughter of Mr. Bashisha Ronald, was found dead. Her body has been transferred to the City Mortuary, Mulago, for a post-mortem examination,” said Owoyesigyire.
Investigations have started to determine the cause of the fire, added Owoyesigyire.
