Business Man Murdered In Cold Blood, Suspect On Run.

The Territorial Police in Tororo is investigating a case of Murder as was reported to Mulanda Police Station.

 The deceased was identified as one Olweny Ronald m/a aged 37 years, a businessman, Resident of Bendo Village, Awiyo Parish, Iyolwa Sub County, Tororo District who was murdered by yet to be identified suspects during the the night of 09th to 10th January 2025 at unkown time.

 This incident occured in Mikiya Village, Mikiya Parish, Mwello Sub County, Tororo District.

It's alleged that on 09/1/2025 at around 1930/ one Olweny Ronald (deceased) hired a motor cycle Registration NO. UGG400J to go to Pasindi trading Center where he had opened up a saloon for his wife one Adongo, that on 10/01/2025 at around 0700/ one Ofwono Charles called on the telephone number of Olweny Ronald and only to be received by another person that never identified himself but alleged that the phone owner had been taken away in a vehicle whose number plate was not identified and that he (the receiver) got the said phone from a resident who he knows by Identity of Mikiya Village and that both the phone and the motor cycle were at the home of Chairman Lc1 of Mikiya Village.

 The said Chairman was immediately contacted and he confirmed that the said motorcycle was abandoned near the home of Nyamwenge Mary a female elderly of about 70 years old.the above incident was then reported at Mulanda Police Station.

The Scene of crime was visited and documented by SOCO and a team of Police Officers. Statements obtained from relevant witnesses. Motorcycle stained with blood recovered near the home of Nyamwenge Mary in Mikiya Village and the body was also recovered from a cassava plantation in a distance of about 300 meters away from where the motorcycle was abandoned.

 The body conveyed to Tororo Municipal Mortuary pending postmortem. W/t drafted pending transmission to relevant authorities.

The  preliminary findings indicate that the body was found naked without a head. It was found out that, Nyamwenge Mary only lives with her grand daughter and that they woke up on 09/1/2025 morning only to see a motorcycle abandoned near their house.

Bukedi South region spokesperson IP Mugwe Johnson Moses said Inquiries at hand adding that, arrest made as yet.
