City Businessman Robbed Shs100m By Panga Welding Men
Police and other security agencies are on the ground hunting for city robbers who over the weekend attacked the city businessman and robbed him of shs 100m spyreports has learnt.
The businessman who is now on the verge of losing his house to bank has been identified as Deo Tibamanya 49 years a resident of Kawempe a Kampala suburb.
Patrick Onyango the police spokesman for Kampala Metropolitan says Tibamanya on Friday went and withdrew shs 100m from Centenary Bank Kawempe branch.
"After withdrawing the money, Tibamanya, entered his car Toyota Harrier Registration number UBN 789W and proceeded to Bombo high way," Says Onyango. He added that as the victim reached Maganjo, a group of three men armed with Pangas raided him while in the jam, smashed his car glasses and picked the bag that contained money and took off.
"The goons after picking money, abandoned the bag that contained the some land title and other sensitive documents. In another development, Onyango says police is also hunting for two armed robbers who attacked two business men and robbed them of their money totaling to shs 4m. The victims have been identified as Karuhanga David and Tayebwa Bruno all operating mobile money business.
" The robbers first attacked Karuhanga, put him on gun point and took the money and later went to Tayebwa and robbed him,"Says Onyango.
It should be remembered that a week ago, panaga wielding men moving on boda boda robbed a business man shs 30m after withdrawing it from KCB Bank on 8th street.
