City Lawyer Erias Nalukoola Luyimbaazi Wins NUP Ticket FOr Kawempe North Constituency
The National Unity Platform (NUP) Election Management Committee has announced Counsel Erias Nalukoola Luyimbaazi who scored 71.4% as the party flag bearer for
Kawempe North Division Constituency by-election scheduled 13th march 2025.
However, one of the candidates Nsereko Moses fainted after being declared in the 9th position with only 14.2%
The process had three stage of vetting out of 40%, The open debate out of 10% and vote from the constituency out of 50%.
"I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to the National Unity Platform for placing trust in me to be the flag bearer and the official candidate in the forthcoming Kawempe North By-Election".Said Nalukoola in his maiden speech.
The race to fill the late MP Ssegirinya's seat in Kawempe North had ten candidates all vying for one ticket.
These include, Magala Umar, Mulumba Mathias, Nsereko Moses, Rubagumya Charles, Erias Luyimbaazi Nalukoola, Fredrick Kakiika, Salim Sserunkuuma, Ssenkungu Kenneth, Luwemba Muhammad Luswa, and Kulya Saul Zziwa.
