Confined Cook Lands School Proprietor In Hot Soup

Police in Kajjansi are holding Yoweri Kasozi, the Proprietor of Tooto Wetu Education Programme Children and Youth Centre, located in KKB Cell, Bweya Ward, Kajjansi Town Council in Wakiso district, on allegations of unlawful confinement of one Euriana Daniel, 21 years old, from a store belonging to the school.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that Euriana Daniel, formerly a guard, was promoted to a cook at Mentor High School under the Tooto Wetu Educational Programme.

 It is alleged that on the 2nd of December 2023, four iron sheets and five used drums went missing from the school's store, with Daniel being suspected of involvement.

According to the suspect, Yoweri Kasozi, Daniel was interrogated about the missing property and subsequently detained in one of the school's stores. The victim, Daniel, was allegedly tortured during this period of confinement.

On the 13th of March 2024, the DPC Kajjansi received information from a whistleblower regarding this unlawful confinement.

 A raid was conducted, leading to the rescue of Daniel. His statement has been recorded, confirming that he had been unlawfully detained by his employer for approximately four months. 

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire Deputy Public Relations officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police confimed that the suspect will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.
