Judiciary Denounces Welfare Allegations by Driver.
The Judiciary reveals that its leadership resolved to have allowances of all non staff including drivers enhanced in line with CSI No. 6 of 2018 on duty facilitation allowance.
The response was triggered by a one Kisambira Stanley a driver in the Judiciary whose audio clip is making rounds on social media where he decries little pay and asserts that the salary he receives in insufficient.
Kisambira also calls out the Judiciary for having salary discrepancies amongst drivers. He mentioned that he has been working since 2008 but earns 200,000 shillings and yet he's co drivers earn varying salaries and allowances.
In response the Judiciary through its intervention said each driver is paid a reasonable consolidated monthly allowance paid out on a quarterly basis. The monthly remuneration of a driver is over one million shillings.
Karemani Jameson the Public Relations Officer of the Judiciary said, "while it is true that salaries of non judicial staff in the Judiciary Service are low like for workers in other institutions, the Judiciary Management has made interventions as stated above to bridge the gap."
He added that, "in the meantime, the management of the Judiciary has reached out to Mr. Kisambira in an effort to guide him on how best his concerns ought to have been addressed.
Meanwhile Kisambira in his audio expressed willingness to explain his plight to management, he called out the double standards of enhancing the salary Judicial Officers and neglecting drivers.
