Director Traffic And Road Safety Arrests Driver Over Careless Overtaking
A vehicle has apprehended on the Kampala-Masaka highway for reckless driving, including speeding and careless overtaking.
Despite being instructed to stop by the officers on the instructions of the Director of Traffic and Road Safety, who was traveling on the same route, the driver refused to comply and became increasingly aggressive.
The driver was eventually intercepted at a checkpoint in Kyabadaza, where inspections revealed an expired permit, illegal sirens, and modified lights.
He has been charged and is detained at Mpigi Police Station, pending a court appearance.
This incident serves as a stark reminder that reckless driving will not be tolerated. Such behavior not only endangers the driver's own life but also the lives of other road users.
Police urge all road users to exercise caution, courtesy, and responsibility when using the road.
