FDC Introduces Dr.Alwoc Rosemary To Replace Late Cecilia Ogwal In Dokolo By-election.

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has today officially introduced Dr Rosemary Alwoc a daughter to the late Cecilia Ogwal as party Flagbearer for the Dokolo Woman MP by-election.

Dr. Alwoc was handed over aparty Flag,Constitution and the party new guidlines at a function held at the party headquarters Najjanankumbi in Kampala.

Presiding over the function, the party electoral commission chairperson Toterebuka Bamwenda urged the peaple of Dokolo to entrust their votes with the FDC flagbearer Dr. Alwoc whom he said will equally represent them like her late mother HON.Cecilia Atim Ogwal.

''There were members of the party who expressed interest in contesting, the decision to support Dr. Olwoc follows discussions between the party leadership, the family of the late Hon. Cecilia Atim Ogwal, and FDC members in Dokolo. Instead of holding primary elections, the party reached a consensus among its members'' Bamwenda told spyreports.

Holding cratches Dr. Alwoc Rosemary assured the party members that she will not let the party down and asked Dokolo electorates to vote for Her as they have been trusting her late mother.

Dr. Olwoc Rosemary Ogwal is not only the daughter of Imat Cecilia Ogwal but also a candidate of exceptional quality who is willingly sacrificed her comfort to continue the initiatives that Imat Cecilia Ogwal was deeply passionate about. Dr Alwoc said.

''I'm ready to work in a clean and peaceful manner'' , Dr Rosemary Alwoc stated.

On monday this week, the Electoral commission released a program for Dokolo parliamentary and local councils by-election.

The nomination of candidates will be conducted on Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th March, 2024 at the Office of the District Returning Officer, Dokolo and the successfully nominated candidates will conduct campaign meetings for seven (7) days, that is, from Wednesday 13th till Tuesday 19th March, 2024.

Polling and tallying of results for by-election of councilors representing Special Interest Groups will take place on Monday, 18th March, 2024, while the polling day for the District Woman Representative to Parliament and other Local Government Councillors will be conducted on Thursday, 21st March, 2024.

The District Woman Representative seat for Dokolo became vacant following the death of the former Representative (MP), the Hon. Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal,on 18th January 2024.
