Gen Muhoozi Promotes Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye To Acting Major General Rank

The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations SPA/SO, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has promoted Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces Director of Defence Public Information, to the rank of Acting Major General. 

According to the Statement released by UPDF indicated that Major General Kulayigye was promoted due to his excellent long serving and representation of UPDF in the public domain.

Felix Kulayigye is a Major general now in the Uganda People's Defence Force was Effective 4 February 2022, appointed the official spokesperson of the UPDF, replacing Brigadier Flavia Byekwaso, who was sent on a course at the National Defense College, Uganda.

This promotion marks a significant milestone in the career of Brig Gen Kulayigye, who has played a pivotal role in shaping the UPDF’s public relations strategy.

His contribution has been particularly notable in managing the image of UPDF's foreign missions, including peacekeeping efforts in Somalia and the ongoing Operation Shujaa in the Democratic Republic of Congo to eliminate the Allied Democratic Forces.
