IGG To Audit UBOS City Census Results

The inspector General of Government Hon Betty Kamya has said her office will audit the recent population Results released by Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS).

 IGG revealed this while meeting members of the press at her office in Kampala. "Several concerns and questions have been raised about the accuracy of figures for four tribes that is Bakiga,Bagisu,Acholi and Langi," Says IGG. She added that she will make a comment authoritatively after the audit is Complete.

In a related development, The executive Director of Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) Dr Chris Mukiza has sent a strong siginal to his haters and critics that he will not resign from his Job because of little errors that occurred during recent concluded National Population and Housing Census, Spy reports has established. 

The tough Dr Mukiza spit the fire during a breakfast meeting with Journalists at Serena hotel in Kampala. The public has been criticising the UBOS results on tribal and religion calling for the resignation of Dr Mukiza and his top Management.

 "There was an error on population results of Bagisu and Bakiga and also on Moselem religion and it was rectified," Says Dr Mukiza. "An human who does not make errors has Mental issues," Says Mukiza adding that small human error can not make him resign. "You Journalists every day you publish information with errors why is that your editors and Managers don't resign or why is that your companies do not close," Sounds Dr Mukiza.

 "When we were here releasing preliminary Census results, we said we were 45.9m but the Monitor News Paper reported 49.5. Why didn't the company close or why didn't their editors resign?," Sounds Dr Mukiza.

He further explains that the error was that the population result of Bagisu was swapped with that of Bakiga and it was rectified. "These small errors would not call for ReCensus as many people have claimed," Dr Mukiza assures the public. "Expect no Census until 10 years later," he says. He says the population Census of Bagisu in 2014 was 2.9 and now it stands at 3.7 m people. "What matters is to acknowledge the errors and put them right," he says. He says people were not about error but hunting for Dr Mukiza.

 "People started hunting Dr Mukiza even when I not appointed ED UBOS but I will not resign because am an Authentic leader," She stresses.
