Kagadi Accident Claims 16 Lives
A tragic road accident involving a taxi and a Fuso truck has resulted in at least 16 confirmed deaths. The collision occurred in Muhorro Town Council, Kagadi District, along the Kagadi-Kyenjojo-Fort Portal Highway.
Witnesses reported that the Fuso truck, carrying silverfish, failed to brake and collided head-on with the taxi, which was traveling from Fort Portal to Kagadi. The victims, including the taxi driver, were mostly residents of Kagadi Town Council who were returning from a burial in Fort Portal. Five injured individuals were taken to Muhorro Community Health Centre for treatment. Local residents have expressed concerns over frequent accidents at the same location in recent days.
Police investigations are underway to identify the deceased and further understand the circumstances surrounding the accident.
