M7 Promotes Maj. Gen. Sam Kavuma To Lt Gen Appoints Him ATMIS Commander

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who also doubles as the commander In Chief Of Armed forces has promoted Samuel Kavuma from the rank of Maj General to the Rank of Lt General and has also appointed him as ATMIS Commander in Somalia.

Kavumu is currently working as Deputy Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation which is headed by Gen Salim Sale.

Lt Gen Kavuma as serves as the Chairperson of Wazalendo Sacco of UPDF and now replaces Sam Okiding who was recently appointed Deputy Chief of Defence Forces (D/CDF) after the sacking of Lt Gen Peter Elweru.

Lt.Gen Kavuma served as Deputy Commander of the Land Force. He is one of the most senior UPDF Generals and is a highly respected and disciplined officer.

On the other hand, The handover of the CDF office will happen on 28th March 2024, in Gulu and to be presided over by Rtd Gen. Salim Saleh Akadwanaho.

The former CDF now appointed the state minister for trade Gen Wilson Mbasu Mbadi will be handing the CDF office to Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba the Chairman Patriotic League of Uganda and the first son of the nation.
