Military Police Officer Shoots Dead His Girl Friend, Himself Over Sexual Affair With Another Officer

Police in Kampala are investigating circumstances under which the UPDF officer killed his wife on suspicion that she had been having extramarital affairs with other officers

This incident occurred today, the 20th of February 2024 when a jealous military officer lost his temper and opened gun fire at a fellow staff of Makindye military police. According to the information, the double murder by shooting occurred at around today morning at around 7:00am in Lusaka zone, Makindye 1 in Makindye Division Kampala District.

The dead military police officer has been Corporal Andebo Collins attached to Makindye military police and the sidedish has also been identified as Atulinda Peroni who was also a support staff at Makindye military police.

Our inside sources at the military facility revealed to us that the pair had been in relationship for five years but early this year, the man started neglecting the woman by not giving her some assistance. "Whenever the woman would ask some help from the man, he would reply tol her whether she doesnt work. Use your money to sort out your issues," says a source from Makindye who knew both of them.

 She added that the woman left the man and got another military officer who was at the level of Lt. "The Lt had just come from a mission and he had a lot of money. He fell in love with Atulinda and she actually blocked Collins from her phone," Another Source reveals to us. He said Collins tried the number of his girl friend but could not go through and he started following her physically.

The source says on Sunday evening, Collins spotted the girl with a Lt in one of the bars in Makindye watching football match between Manchester United vs Luton. "The pair were seriously in love as they watched football and were all funs of Manchester United. They were enjoying libs of pork and Goat plus bottles of Tursk lite," Says a close friend to Collins. 

He says Collins got annoyed but feared to attack his boss but promised to do something which the girl would never forget in her entire life. The source says Collins deployed some boda boda people to monitor the movement of Atulinda and today morning, he got a call from a boda boda before he left his unit with an AK47 rifle.

Luke Owoyesigyire the Police Deputy spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police says that at around 7:00am Collins while dressed in civilian wear armed with his killer rifle shot several bullets to Atulinda as she was boarding a boda boda heading to Makindye for her daily work. "Atulinda's arm was shartted  which resulted into several bleeding and was rushed to Nsyambya hospital where she passed on a few minutes," Says the police spokesperson.

He added that the officer also feared the grave punishment that would be extended to him upon arrested and he turned the trigger to himself and took away his unwanted life. The killer gun was removed with 13 cartridges from the scene of crime. Security recorded statements from the eye witnesses as investigations continue
