Namirembe Diocese Bishop Emeritus Balagadde Ssekedde dies

Former Anglican Church of Uganda, Namirembe Diocese Bishop Samuel Balagadde Ssekadde has died at Kisubi Hospital where he had been admitted for a while.

The sad news was announced on Monday 14th October evening by the Diocese fathers Union.

"On a sad note we announce the terrible news of the sudden death of Bishop Emeritus the Rt. Rev. Samuel Balagadde Ssekadde the 4th Bishop of our Diocese. May his soul rest in peace".posted the fathers union. 

Bishop Ssekadde retired in 2009 and was replaced by bishop Kityo Luwalira after serving for over 50 years.

In December 2022 Rt Rev Bishop Ssekadde celebrated 50years of marriage at Namirembe Cathedral and the function was attended by The Vice president of Uganda Rt Maj Jesca Arupo and Nabagereka Sylvia Naginda.
