Museveni DRCC Burora Officially Resigns, Castigates Hostility From The Office Of The President.

Suspended Rubaga Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner Anderson Burora has written to the secretary Office of the president Mr. Kakande Yunus retiring from his job so that he can fully engage in the fight against corruption without any restriction from any office.

In a letter dated 23rd April 2024, Burora accused the secretary to the president of confiscating the letter he had written to the president dated 28th March 2024 as the appointing authority in which he was requesting early retirement.

He noted that the role of the secretary is only limited to administrative, issuing the appointment letter on behalf of the president, and facilitating the work of the RDCs and RCCs.
Burora further castigates the hostile working environment he allegedly caused by the speaker of parliament Rt. Hon Annet Anita Among he says has forced him to retire from office as the deputy Resident City Commissioner in Rubaga division Kampala capital city.

''I wish to relieve the Rewards and Sanctions Committee of the burden to investigate me and the resources that would be wasted on the investigations because irrespective of the outcome of the investigations, I am not willing to return to work due to hostility from different stakeholders, the atmosphere in the Office of the President that suffocates those who speak against corruption wouldn't be a conducive working environment for me''. The letter reads in part.

Burora also asked for the halting of his payments in terms of salary, allowances, and other official emoluments advanced to him from the date of his resignation letter 23rd April 2024 but requested for clearance of his unpaid allowances and gratuity to the date of his suspension.

On 14th March 2024, Burora was suspended by the secretary office of President Yunus Kakande over making negative comments about the Speaker of Parliament and parliament as an institution both on social media and mainstream media.

Burora appeared before the awards and sanctions committee on 9th April which wrote to him on 16th April 2024 recommending his interdiction but still insists that he will continue with his move to fight corruption, especially among government officials.
