Museveni Orders Chief Justice Owinyo Dollo to Review Court Orders of Auctioning Gaddafi Mosque

President Museveni has written to the Chief Justice requesting for a review of the judgement in a matter involving the sale of moslem properties. In a letter dated 7th December, 2023 headed "Warrant of attachment and scale of immovable property on the UMSC," the president noted that he received a letter from His Eminence, the Mufti of Uganda seeking the former's intervention in the quarrels about the sale of moslem properties. "I was most surprised to read in Mufti Mubajje's letter that among the moslem properties to be affected is the National Mosque at Old Kampala," excerpts of the president's letter to the HW Alfonse Owinyi Dollo read. He questioned the sanity of the mover of the judgement saying that if there is no law protecting institutions of worship then common sense is there. He requested the Chief Justice to review the matter by himself and restore sanity. "What, however provoked me was the audacity of attaching the National Mosque. The NRM freedom fighters and the government they head, cannot be associated with this sick logic," the angry president remarked.
