NIRA, POLICE to Arrest Money Lenders Using National IDs as security Collaterals.

National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) and Uganda Police Force have vowed to work together and arrest all money lenders country wide using the national IDS as the collateral or mortgages as their security to while lending money to Ugandans. 

Speaking to Media at police headquarters in Naguru, Osborn Mushabe from NIRA said that national IDS should only be used for identification and verification purposes. "We shall liaise with the Uganda police to carry out raids, investigations and arrests against individuals still involved in vices of using National IDs as security, collateral or mortgages,"says Osborn Mushabe. 

Mushabe also revealed that citizens whose IDs are still in possession of Money lenders should report to police in order to devise a way out.  It's alleged that most money lenders had resorted into taking national IDS for Ugandans as their immediate security while getting quick loans.
