Parliamentary Commission Service Award - Rubanda District Electorates Compel Woman MP Prossy Akampurira To Resign over Shs400m

Electorates under their umbrella Rubanda Farmers Association have issued out a protest letter accusing their own woman MP Prossy Akampurira Begumisa Mbabazi also commissioner of Parliament, for allegedly pocketing shs400m saying that the action is a misuse of public funds and abuse of office.

They want her to refund MP Prossy Akampurira the taxpayers' money, apologize to the Bakiga and Ugandans, and resign.

''As concerned and deeply invested citizens of Uganda, we, the voters of MP Prossy from Rubanda district, hereby issue this urgent our dismay and outrage at the recent allegations of corruption and misuse of public funds involving our elected representative''. The document reads.

The revelations of MP Akampurira Prossy's involvement in the unlawful allocation of Shs 1. 7 billion, including a personal allocation of Shs 400 million under the guise of "Service Awards," have shaken us to the core. They said.

''As constituents who placed our trust and confidence in MP Prossy to represent our interests and uphold the principles of integrity and accountability, we are profoundly disappointed and disillusioned by these actions. This is an insult to every Ugandan struggling to make ends meet. While our education and healthcare systems crumble, these officials prioritize self-enrichment''. The electorates noted in part of their document.

These electorates demand that Hon. Prossy must immediately return the entirety of the funds allocated to her as "Service Awards saying that the funds belong to the people of Uganda and must be used for the betterment of our communities, not for personal gain.

Hon. Prossy also owes the people of Uganda a sincere and public apology for betraying our trust and confidence. We expect her to acknowledge her wrongdoing and express genuine remorse for her actions.

They further demand her Resignation from her Role as Commissioner of Parliament noting that, individuals implicated in corruption and abuse of office can not continue holding positions of power and influence within our institutions.
Failure to heed these demands, the electorates have threatened to disown Hon. Akampurira as their representative in Parliament.
