PM Nabba ja Commissions Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement Hospital Construction
The state minister for youth and children affair Dr Balaam Baruhagara has Represented the Prime Minister Rt Hon Robbina Nabbanja and the United Arab Emirates Ambassador in Uganda have laid the foundation stone for a new 25-bed capacity hospital block in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement.
This incredible facility is a generous donation from the people and government of the United Arab Emirates.
"The UAE's support will significantly enhance healthcare services for the over 100,000 refugees residing in Kiryandongo, primarily from Sudan" He said.
This new block will improve the overall situation in the camp, providing better medical care and living conditions for those seeking refuge. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Your Excellency and the people of the UAE for their compassion and commitment to supporting vulnerable communities
"I'm deeply humbled to have accepted 700 tonnes of assorted food items on behalf of the Prime Minister's office at Kiryandongo refugee camp, generously provided by the Government of UAE". Says minister Balaam.
H.E Abdalla Hassan AlShamsi, Head of Mission of the UAE Embassy to Uganda, graciously delivered these essential supplies. This compassionate gesture by the UAE Government will significantly benefit the over 100,000 refugees from Sudan residing in Kiryandongo.
"On behalf of Government of Uganda, Prime Minister and the entire Office of the Prime Minister's team, I extend our sincerest gratitude to the Government and people of UAE for their kindness and support". He added
Kiryandongo refugee camp has seen a significant influx of refugees, with numbers reaching 96,860 as of March 31st, 2024. The UAE's donation will undoubtedly make a tangible difference in the lives of those seeking refuge in Uganda.
